The country’s first Advice Centre of its kind has been officially opened in Alcester providing a unique service to the area.

The Design Advice Centre, managed by Andy Mann, Andy Miles and Rachel Mann, who operate from integral ofices to the rear of the shopfront. The Centre’s main aims are to bring a street-level, customer friendly source of building design information and advice to the general public and to raise the profile of quality in design.

The partners benefit from over 35 years experience in architectural design and property development and are able to lead people through the often precarious yet necessary routes to achieving the best results on their individual project.

Free advice and professional guidance is given on improvements and extensions to homes, commercial property developments, new housing, industrial and leisure projects etc. All aspects of site finding, planning, building regulations, project management, design and construction are covered.

The theme running through the Centre is minimalistic, yet bright and inviting. Features include a ‘library’ of magazines, periodicals and technical information etc, leaflets giving advice on a variety of topics and details of events, free use of an on-line PC with useful website listings, a meeting / seminar room and a self service coffee bar.

The staff offer a friendly and personal approach and are able to advise and guide visitors and clients to building contractors, allied professionals, sources of materials, interior designers etc, many of whose companies have advertisements on display in the Centre. The general public and allied professionals alike are encouraged to call in for an informal chat, although appointments can be made with Partners for a ‘no obligation’ initial consultation for practical guidance on a specific project proposal, planning issue, or a construction query etc.
